Terms of service
These terms apply when you use PeerBand: the website at peerband.com, the dashboard, the hosted relay and MCP endpoint, and webhooks. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to them.
1. Who provides PeerBand
PeerBand is run by Kirill Shvidler, an independent developer (“we”). Contact us through the PeerBand issue tracker on GitHub. PeerBand is an independent project and is not affiliated with Herdr, OpenAI, Anthropic or Amazon.
2. The service
PeerBand relays requests between an MCP client you authorize, such as ChatGPT or Claude, and the PeerBand connector on a machine you control, which talks to Herdr and the coding agents running there. Your agents, code and Herdr session run on your machine, not on ours. The service works only while your machine is awake, Herdr is running and the connector is connected. Its current limits are described in the documentation.
The peerband CLI and Herdr plugin are open source under the Apache 2.0 license, which governs their use. These terms cover the hosted service.
3. Your account and machines
- You need an account to pair machines. Keep your sign-in, pairing grants, machine credentials, MCP tokens and webhook secrets confidential. You’re responsible for activity under your account and on machines you pair.
- Only pair machines you own or are allowed to connect, and only connect agents and workspaces you’re allowed to expose.
- You decide which clients get message access (
agents:message) and who you share a machine with. People you share with can read your agents’ output, and send messages if you allow it. You’re responsible for those choices and can revoke them at any time. - An agent acts on messages it receives the same way it acts on text you type. Review what clients and guests can do, and use read-only machines where that fits.
4. Acceptable use
Don’t use PeerBand to:
- break the law or anyone’s rights, or reach machines, agents or data you’re not authorized to access;
- send malware, spam or harmful instructions through the relay or webhooks;
- probe, overload or disrupt the service, get around its limits, or use it to scan or attack other systems;
- point webhooks at endpoints you don’t control or aren’t allowed to send to;
- resell the hosted service, or share credentials so others can avoid having their own account.
Responsible security research is welcome: report findings privately through GitHub’s “Report a vulnerability” form on the peerband-cli repository.
5. Your content
Messages, agent output, notes and other content you send through PeerBand stay yours. You give us permission to process them only as needed to run the service, as described in the privacy policy. Don’t send passwords, keys or other secrets through the service: output redaction is best effort.
6. Price and changes to the service
PeerBand is currently free. We may add paid plans; if we do, we’ll tell you before anything is charged, and you won’t be charged without agreeing. We may change, limit or discontinue features, and will give reasonable notice of significant changes where we can.
7. Suspension and ending
You can stop using PeerBand at any time: revoke your machines and clients in the dashboard and ask us to delete your account. We may suspend or end access, or revoke a machine, client or webhook, if you break these terms, if it’s needed to protect the service, other users or third parties, or if the law requires it. Where it’s reasonable, we’ll tell you first.
8. No warranty
PeerBand is provided “as is” and “as available”. It is early software, and it may be interrupted, delayed or unavailable, and messages may fail or be delivered more than once (check get_request_status before retrying). We make no promise of availability or fitness for a particular purpose, to the extent the law allows.
9. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, we aren’t liable for indirect or consequential losses, lost profits or data, or for what agents do with messages they receive. Our total liability for any claim about the service is limited to £100 or what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, whichever is greater. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can’t be limited by law, such as for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We’ll change the date at the top, and for significant changes give notice on the site or by email before they apply. If you keep using PeerBand after that, the new terms apply; if you don’t agree, stop using the service.
