How to let your coworkers talk to your AI agents directly
Run peerband share --message and send the invite link to your coworker. They sign in to their own PeerBand account, accept, and add PeerBand to their MCP client. They can then read your agents and message them, and every message tells your agent who sent it.
Create the invite
peerband share --message--messagelets them send messages. Leave it out for read-only access.- The link works for one person and expires after 7 days. Change that with
--expires DAYS. - Send the link over a channel you trust. Anyone who opens it first can accept it.
What your coworker does
- Opens the link, signs in to PeerBand and accepts. The page shows your machine, who shared it, the access level and when the link expires.
- Adds
https://mcp.peerband.com/mcpto their ChatGPT, Claude or Claude Code and approves message access. - Asks things like "What is the agent in the api workspace on Alex's machine doing?" or "Ask it to add a test for the empty cart case."
Your machine shows up in their dashboard and in list_machines.
How your agent treats them
Their messages arrive with a header naming them as a shared user, by email. The PeerBand skill tells your agent to help with the task like a coworker would: no secrets, credentials or personal data, nothing outside the project, and it asks you before anything risky or irreversible.
Stay in control
- The dashboard shows People with access. Switch someone between Read only and Read + message, or press Remove.
- Guest activity (last 30 days) shows what each guest read or sent. Only metadata is kept, never messages or output.
- From the terminal:
peerband share list, andpeerband share revoke ID. - Notes from
peerband notifyand webhooks go only to you, never to guests.
Questions
Do they see my other machines?
No. A share covers one machine. Share each machine separately.
Can I make one machine read-only for everyone?
Yes. Run the connector read-only and no one, including you, can message its agents. See the read-only tutorial.
Is this like sharing a Claude Code session?
It's broader: they reach every agent in Herdr on that machine, live, from their own client and account, with your agent knowing who's asking.
